What is the PKAVS Young Carers E-learning Module?

This e-learning tool is for anyone who would like to learn more about young carers.
Young carers are children and young people who care for a family member of any age, due to disability, mental illness, chronic/terminal illness or problematic substance use.

The aim of this e-learning tool is to:

• Increase individuals understanding of who young carers are
• Increase understanding of the impact of caring responsibilities
• Increase individuals knowledge of laws and legislation related to young carers
• Increase individual's knowledge of methods to support young carers

What To Expect

You will first be introduced to 4 young carers, their stories and how it has impacted them. You will then be able to explore different ways young carers can be supported. There will be a few questions throughout this module leading to a completion certificate at the end.
